AMD 6

For this AMD, I read an article about cafes in Germany on the Ich Werde Ein Berliner blog. It was very humorous in explaining how Germans feel about their cafe choices. The author claimed that within three days of being in Germany, one should already have a favorite cafe. It is not uncommon for people to spend half of their day, or more, in a cafe. They pretty much make it like it is their own home. I guess you might as well be comfortable if you're going to be there for twelve hours. Also, one must know about coffee and you must have a certain way that you like to ingest your caffeine. "Good" cafes are supposed to be little hole-in-the-wall places with creaky wooden floorboards and old furniture. Very hipster-esque, to say. It is bad etiquette to sit and chat with a friend for however long and then get up and leave. It would make the Germans around you feel uncomfortable. So plan to set up house in your favorite cafe, because nothing less of you would be expected in Germany.
