For this Kulter 5 experiment i decided to read the articles provided. With the first article "Rules of the Street: No Blood, No Entschuldigung" it seemed like typical German behavior from what I have read before. Germans are known for their bluntness and this seemed like typical bluntness you would see. When i was in Germany I never bumped into to anyone but if i did, i wouldn't expect a excuse me. For the next article German Erotica: The Land of Beer, Sausage and Sex Shops it again seemed like the typical thing for Germans to do. America is always concerned about hiding and concealing our true feelings and things, but in Germany they are just honest about it. So to have a sex shop in the open is really not weird for them because it is a normal everyday thing that Germans know people sometimes need to use. There is no reason to hide it. In the next article The Loneliness of the Klofrau: Toilet Training for Visitors, i found it very interesting that they had a position for the bathroom.I never saw an actual lady who did that job when i went to the bathroom in Germany. Most times it was free for me and the one time it wasn't was at a rest stop and i just fed 1 Euro into a machine to let me in. This would be a good idea to keep bathrooms clean. I also liked how the author made sure that Germans do not think of these people in a condescending way but simply as a job that needs to be done.. Finally for the last article Scoring a German: Flirting with Fräuleins, Hunting for Herren, it was interesting the different way of flirting for people in Germany. It seems like Germans do not like to make a big show about things so direct flirting seems foreign to them. In America it is very important to be confident to aggressive to make your point. That seems like the opposite in Germany.
